An Americanized Neapolitan pizzeria in Ft Mitchell, Camporosso offers two styles: Neapolitan wood-fired pizza and ‘American’ New York-ish gas oven pizza. Pictured is the ‘American’. The crust is more airy/bubbly and Neapolitan-ish than you’d expect with a New York style pizza (they use “tipo 00” flour), although with the gas oven it doesn’t get the full leopard spotted char of a Neapolitan crust. I’d compare the style to some of the old school NYC pizzerias like @johnsofbleeckerstreet in the West Village. I liked this one and thought it was unquestionably a thoughtfully constructed pizza, which is very nice to see in Ft Mitchell. With a bit more favorable crust I think it would be a truly great pizza.
