Slices & Pie

A Detroit style pizzeria off the U Street Corridor in DC. Slices & Pie does NY style, Detroit style, and also a Sicilian upside down slice. I had a slice of their Detroit-style with pepperoni cups(!) and hot honey. The top of crust was caramelized with brick cheese (à la mode in Detroit). While crisply fried on the outside, the interior of the crust was quite airy and bread like - a bit like a Sicilian slice. So overall it was a bit less crisp and lighter than you’d expect looking at it (that and they did not go overboard on the cheese). All in all, it was a quite good slice.
