Scarr’s Pizza

Located in the Lower East Side, this is one of my all time favorite slice joints. With decor repurposed from an old bowling alley, Scarr’s evokes a classic 1970s pizzeria. Aesthetics aside, @scarrspizza is notable for being the only pizzeria (I know of) that mills it’s own flour onsite. That care for craft produces an incredibly flavorful crust (pizza is mostly crust, so thoughtful baking is the key to a great slice). I’d recommend the New York style here, which is super thin and crisp (notice it sticks out off the plate rather than sag on to the table). Flavorful, crunchy (yet soft interior), and foldable - It’s essentially the Platonic ideal of New York Style. Very highly recommended!
