Blue Pan Pizza

An outpost of Detroit style pizza in the “Centennial State”. Blue Pan does also offer a New York style and a cracker thin pizza. However, since “pan” is in the name, naturally we opted for a Detroit pizza. Pictured here, the “Brooklyn Bridge” features pepperoni cups, sausage, and oversized globs of ricotta. While perhaps decadent, I did really like this topping combination, with ricotta being the dominant flavor. Caramelized with mozzarella and Detroit brick cheese, the crust was on the subtle end for Detroit Style pizza and perhaps could have used a bit more flavor (maybe switching to 100% brick cheese would allow more flavor to melt in). Aside from the pizza, I did appreciate the decor at Blue Pan including a fascinating pizza-themed tryptic. Overall, it’s gotta be one of the best pizzerias in Colorado.
